Citizen
Citizen is one of our favorite bands signed to Ohio-based Run for Cover Records.

The band has released three studio albums each with a swagger of songs that make it difficult to pick the highlights. If we had to choose, it is not difficult to see why 'The Summer' was a natural choice as the first single for their debut album, Youth. Citizen's lead singer, Mat Kerekes has a raw voice and this song puts it front and center.
The more melodic 'The Night I Drove Alone' is another favorite from Youth that gets inside your head.
Citizen are a hard working band who know how to rock the house.

The release of 'As you Please', their third Studio Album in 2016, saw a major change of pace for the band. The new sound explores the bleak landscape of rust belt hardship. 'In the Middle of it All' is the only song on the album that offers a glimmer of hope. The song that takes me to another place is 'Flowerchild'. I lay in bed and drift away.
To support the 2016 release of the album, Citizen have toured extensively in the States, Canada, the UK and Europe. They are still on the road and are set to take the show to Japan and Australia in 2019.
