Deftones
It is a brand new year and it is time to kick it up a notch. To bring the new year in with a bang, our very first headliner in 2020 is the Deftones.
Deftones have released 8 studio albums since they emerged from the Californian metal and hardcore scene. 'Bored' was the first time I heard this band's music and I was instantly hooked.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that the Deftones would have to be the most experimental bands out there. They are not afraid to push the edges into unexpected directions. 'Change (In the House of Flies)' from their third album 'White Pony' is a song to love.
Deftones have been a band that have had to deal with tragedy. Part of dealing with that tragedy has help shaped who they are. 'Diamond Eyes' was their sixth studio album and was the first album to be released after the accident of their bassist player, Chi Cheng. The album was a complete shift in direction and captures a sense of hope that can only be born out of tragedy.
One thing about the Deftones is you know their music has and will continue to evolve. Where they are going to take us is a mystery but one thing we do know is that you have just got to hold on and enjoy the ride.
