HEADLINER OF THE MONTH

Oliver Tree

I find myself in another lockdown with a lot of time on my hands.  I need an artist that can distract me from the current situation and put a smile on my face.  Oliver Tree is that artist. He is described as a thought-provoking filmmaker, producer, comedian, singer-song writer and rapper who is batshit crazy.  Crazy in a good way.

His songs are far more than a self-deprecating piss take on life. There are no themes off-limits. 'Cash Machine' was his third single from his debut album 'Ugly is Beautiful'. It is a song that tackles the meaningless of unfettered consumerism and the pitfalls of a materialistic obsession where enough will never be enough.

This Santa Cruz artist got his start by self releasing 'Splitting Branches' before attracting the attention of Atlantic Records. 'When I'm Down' was a great song from that release and it speaks to me.

Oliver Tree is an artist that is set for greatness. If you want to catch him live, he is scheduled to perform at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in September in Manchester, Tennessee. Tickets are available on his website.
