Silversun Pickups

Silversun Pickups is a band we have grown up listening to. It is difficult to hear one of their songs without evoking some fond hanging out memories. Their first EP 'Pikul' was released by Dangerbird and dedicated to a friend of the band. This EP had a very interesting feature with 17 untitled 45 second tunes in addition to the 7 titled songs.  'Kissing families' was the only single released from the EP and it has a lo-fi undertone that captures a Los Angeles vibe.

''Pikul' was followed up by their first studio album 'Carnavas'.  'Lazy Eye' was the third single from the album that helped  grow the band's fan base beyond California.

'Neck of the Woods' was the follow up album and it really established the band as a class act. 'The Pit' took the band in a different direction but it sounds just as good today as it did when it was released.

The most recent outing 'Better Nature' was released in 2015 which seems like a long long time ago. There have been rumours that the band is working on their fifth album with Butch Vig, producer and drummer from Garbage. Now that sounds like an exciting partnership. We are not sure if it is true but Silversun Pickups frontman did provide co-vocals on a Garbage song 'The Chemical' so there is a connection. Keep your eyes on the band's website for news. Something is coming.
