Cage the Elephant
Cage the Elephant are a band from Bowling Green, Kentucky. We aren't sure why but the band moved to England before the release of their self-titled debut album. Whatever the reason, it seemed to work with the band attracting fans on both sides of the pond. This is a band that knows how to strip songs back to the essence of what works. 'Ain't No Rest for the Wicked' was the band's third single from the album and it was the band's first song to make it into the UK's Top 40 and the Billboard Hot 100.
'Back Against the Wall' was the band's fourth single from the album and the first of the band's songs to make it to number one on the Billboard Alternative Songs Chart.
'In One Ear' was the band's second single from the album before it was re-released as the band's fifth single after the success of 'Back Against the Wall'. It went straight to number one on the Billboard Alternative Song Chart.
'Thank You, Happy Birthday' was the band's follow up album and it definitely had an edgier feel. It was evident from this release that this is a band that wasn't going to rest on its laurels. 'Shake Me Down' was the band's first offering from the album and its not surprising that the video was nominated for Best Rock Video by MTV.
'Tell Me I'm Pretty' and 'Social Cues' are two of our favorite albums so far. It is no surprise to us that both albums were nominated and won Best Rock Albums at the Grammy Awards.
This band has released five albums to date. Every release seems to get better and better so we can't wait for the next offering from the band.
