Skrillex
I have not been a huge fan of EDM until I stumbled across the music of Sonny John Moore a.k.a. Skrillex. The very first song I was exposed to from this EDM wunderkind was a video from his third EP 'More Monsters and Sprites'. The very apt title of the song was called 'First of the Year'. It made my hairs stand on the back of my neck. It seriously sent chills down by spine and got me reaching for the phone to dial 911.
I had to rush out and get the EP and I wasn't disappointed. Another song on the EP that blew my mind was 'Ruffneck'. I soon discovered there was a video and it another Skrillex assault on the senses. The holiday season is upon us and in the spirit of Christmas this is a video to enjoy.
I don't know how to say it but put simply Skrillex is a musical genius. 'Bangerang' was the follow up EP to 'More Monsters and Sprites' and it took Skrillex to the next level and, deservingly, charted around the world.
Skrillex has only released one album to-date, 'Recess'. When it was released in 2014 it took the world by storm.'Try it out' was the first single to be released from the album.
Skrillex doesn't really do studio albums with the bulk of his output being singles and EPs. 'Purple Lamborghini' is a Skrillex song that was released on the soundtrack for the movie 'Suicide Squad'.
