HEADLINER OF THE MONTH
April, 2022

Reminders

We stumbled across the Reminders last month when we were doing some research for last month's Headliner, Wolf Alice. The Reminders, like Wolf Alice hail from the UK and it is a good sign that they are rocking it across the Pond. The band got the ball rolling in 2017 with their first release, an EP, 'Water Sports and Major Cities'. 'I'll be fine' is a song from the EP which immediately makes you sit up and take notice. This is a band you could grow to love.

The band's first studio album is aptly titled 'The History of Beach Punk'. Having spent a lot of time on the beach when I was growing up, the album's title instantly grabbed my attention. Not that I knew what Beach Punk was but I feel I needed to find out. Turns out the phase Beach Punk is a term that the band coined and was inspired by where they are from. I am sure there are a lot of band's in California and Australia who are kicking themselves for missing that boat. 'Carousel' is the first single from the album and it rocks.

I was instantly curious to find out where in the UK the band comes from. It turms out they are from a place called the Isle of Wight. None of us here have ever heard of it which says more about us than the Isle of Wight. A quick look on the map and it lies in the English Channel just south of the UK coast. 'If you Want It (Don't let me Down)' is another great offering from their debut album.

The latest single to drop is 'Post Paris Blues'. I think I'm falling in love with this band.

Reminders have shows scheduled in he UK to promote the April release of their debut album.  Fingers crossed they tour to shores beyond the UK. Check out the band's website for dates and locations.
