Hole

Watching Hole is a bit like watching a train wreck in slow motion. You know you might see something that could scar you for life but you just can't seem to take your eyes away as the tragedy unfolds.

With the overdose deaths of Courtney Love's husband, Kurt Cobain, and the band's bass player Kristen Pfaff, 'Doll Parts' morphs into something far more tragic than a song about romantic insecurity.  It breaks your heart.

Hole released four studio albums. 'Live Through This' and 'Celebrity Skin' are both considered by many to be rock classics. The emotions that this band were able to tap into drew many down their rabbit hole.

The release of 'Celebrity Skin' saw the band depart from their post punk origins but still remain true to their Californian roots. It is not surprising that 'Celebrity Skin' often appears in best ever lists.  It gets under your skin.

Hole knew how to put on show and Courtney always gave it her all for the girls.

In spite of the mayhem and controversy that surrounded the band, Hole's legacy, without doubt, is their music and their story of hope and survival in the face of it all. 'Malibu' pretty much sums it up.
