Bad Brains

Bad Brains exploded onto the D.C. scene in 1977 and the world has never been the same again. These guys are Rastafarians and hated their music being labelled or put into pigeonholes. So for what I am about to say forgive me. Although the band has constantly changed their musical style and line up, it is their first two albums they were at their innovative best. They were a mix of reggae and hardcore as we know it today.  They didn't play hardcore, they invented it.  'Banned in D.C.' appears on both albums and is hardcore gold.

Their live shows were legendary and they were delivered with a raw high powered energy that the world hadn't seen before.

It is not an exaggeration to say that their self titled debut album and their follow up album 'Rock the Light' inspired the next generation of musicians.  The band were nominated to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It is only a matter of time before they are acknowledged for the legends they are.
