The Byrds

The Byrds were a band from the 60s and were the most popular band in the world for a short period.  The Byrds are considered by many to have been the band to have pioneered folk rock and brought it into the mainstream. This band, in essence, was a Bob Dylan cover band. Over half of their songs on their first album were Bob Dylan songs. It is what this band did with those songs that makes this band special. They were a creative powerhouse well ahead of their time and the world sat up and took notice.

The Byrds also are credited with being the band to develop the psychedelic rock sound. 'Eight Miles High' is considered to be the first psychedelic rock song released and it inspired a rock genre that took the world by storm.

The Byrds were inducted into the Rock and  Roll Hall of Fame and the impact of their music continues to inspire. The Byrds loved Bob Dylan and Bod Dylan loved the Byrds so it is not surprising that they performed together.
