Sugercubes
The Sugarcubes showed the world that if you do something unique, interesting, that pushes the envelope and that is alternative rock you can grab the attention of the world regardless of where you are from. This Icelandic band burst onto the scene in 1986 with their debut album 'Life's Too Good'. 'Birthday' is an avant rock song that is an all time favorite.
'Cold Sweat' is another Sugarcubes' song from the album that remains a firm favorite. This song is weird in all the right ways.
'Regina' is the first single from the band's second album 'Here Today, Tomorrow Next Week!'. This was the song that made it clear that Bjork was a star in the making.
The Sugercubes' third and final album was 'Stick Around for Joy' before Bjork embarked on her solo career. 'Leash Called Love' was the last single to be released from the album and it cemented Bjork as a singer like no other.
The Sugarcubes is a band that let the world know that anything is possible.
