Big Boys

Big Boys emerged from the Austin punk scene and forged a skate punk sound. The Big Boys did not achieve commercial success but their impact was huge. The Big Boys, along with Suicidal Tendencies, and JFA were at the forefront of the skate punk movement that exploded a decade later into the mainstream with the Offspring and Blink-182 leading the charge. The Big Boys first album 'Live at Raul's' was a split live album with The Dicks.  'Psycho' is a song from the album that grows on you with each listen.

'Industry Standard' was the band's first studio album. It was released in 1981 and was packed with skate punk gold.

'Fun Fun Fun' was a 12" EP that the band released in 1982 and it really gets the party started.

So many bands were inspired by the funk rhythms the Big Boys fused into their punk sound.  The Red Hot Chilli Peppers were a support act for the band when they played in LA which led to their nickname 'Little Big Boys'.

The Big Boys impact on the skate punk scene cannot be overstated and for that we thank you.
