Sophia Allison, better known as Soccer Mommy has just announced the re-scheduled dates for her UK tour to promote her second album 'Color Theory'. 'Circle the Drain' is the lead single from the album. When I heard it for the first time on the Jimmy Kimmel show, it took my breathe away. There is sadness in this song that I instantly connected with.
Soccer Mommy has had incredible couple of years on the professional front with the release of two successful albums and a touring schedule that would be the envy of many. If you were lucky to have caught her set at last year's Coachella you could see that Soccer Mommy's growing legend of fans is no accident. In stark contrast to her professional success Sophia has dealt with a range of personal issues including her mother's prolonged battle with cancer. 'Bloodsteam' was the second single and it was this song where the melancholy undertones of the album started to seep into my subconscious.
