The Strokes
We had a lot of toing and froing if we should include The Strokes as an encore act. After all this is a band who are still at the top of their game. Their 2021 release, 'The New Abnormal' won a Grammy for best rock album. Inspite of this we believe this band deserves an encore for their 2001 debut album, 'Is This it' which kick started the 2000's indie rock revival. 'Hard to Explain' is the first release from the album and it got the ball rolling.
'Last Nite' was the follow up single and it was the bands' first song to chart in America. The song sold over a million copies in the US alone.
'Someday' was the third single from the album. Like its predecessor, it too, charted around the world and sold a ton of copies.
What makes 'Is This it' such a special album is it puts the guitar at the centre of a sound that implodes around you. It truly is an album to love.
