HEADLINER OF THE MONTH
January, 2023
The Callous Daoboys

The Callous Daoboys are a mathcore nu-metal band from Atlanta, Georgia. This is a band that is not afraid to stray outside the songwriting conventions and, musically, gives you the unexpected. They are probably going to hate this desciption but to me their music is what I would expect if I asked a bunch of jazz musicians to do some nu-metal songs.  There is something about their style that is familiar but keeps you guessing. 'Die on Mars' was the band's debut studio album and it immediately grabbed a lot of attention. 'Flip-Flops at a Funeral' is the first song on the album and it immediately gets you scratching your head trying to make sense of it all. My big tip is to go with the flow and embrace the aggressiveness and chaos this band has on offer. It draws you in and it is wild ride.

'Fake Dinosaur Bones' is a another great song from the album that will leave any listener lyrically challenged.

'Blackberry Delorean' is another song from the album that tears at your senses.

The Daoboys released their second album, 'Celebrity Therapist'  in September 2022 and descended into madness. Spend a little time in the world of the Daoboys and you start to realise that there is a tiny bit of order within the chaos and that is a beautiful moment when you get there.

The band is touring to promote the new album. Check out the band's website for venues and dates.
